Jan Bormet

I am second year Ph.D. student at the Chair of Applied Cryptography at Technische Universität Darmstadt, where I am advised by Sebastian Faust.

In my research, I focus on distributed cryptography with applications in distributed systems and blockchain infrastructure. In particular, I am working on modeling collusion attacks and designing collusion-resilient protocols for threshold secret sharing, encryption, and identity-based encryption.

On the side, I work with PolyCrypt, developing the off-chain payment channel protocol Perun. There, I specialize in designing smart-contracts for our backends on UTXO-based chains like Cardano and Nervos/CKB.

In my free time, I like to play Basketball, Badminton, and go cycling.
